Is there any news about when the NewsHour on WPT will be on Charter.  The NewsHour went digital tonight and on the old analog, we now have a tempting letterbox format.

It's not up to Charter, it's up to WPT.  It's on from 6 to 7 pm and WPT doesn't start broadcasting on the HD channel until 7.  Right now, the HD channel carries mostly programming from the national PBS feed.  I know that WPT has plans to replace their SD main channel with a HD one that I assume will be on the same hours as the current SD one, with a schedule WPT controls, and drop the national feed schedule.  At that point, they will likely carry the NewsHour in HD.  I don't know when they will make the transition - perhaps after 2/09.

You may want to call WPT to find out where they stand on those plans.

January 14, 2008 at 6:00 PM WHA is expanding HD back from 7:00 PM to 6:00 PM  to include the HD broadcast of the NewsHour.

This is according to Amy on the WHA telephone hotline this morning.
