I've heard that WMSN has asked the FCC for permission to move their digital broadcast from VHF 11 to UHF 49.  Anyone heard anything about that?  I'd love to be able to get away with just a small UHF antenna.  Smiley

I just googled that and found this.

Looks like they are requesting the move, if it gets approved who knows.

For some reason on DTV UHF comes in much better than VHF. I always have trouble with 47 (11) but never with 21, 27 or 3 (50) which are all on the same tower. Angry

I emailed Fox Madison and this is the reply they gave me:

The FCC has to approve the application, but our corporate ownership has
filed to move to UHF Channel 49.  Based on license approval, procurement
of equipment, installation and tower work, we won't be on 49 for about a
year.  That's a guess.

I live about about 5 miles NE of Janesville and 5 miles south of Edgerton in a low wooded area, with an indoor antenna, and I have no problems getting Fox 47.  The signal is always around 65% with no dropouts, even during high winds and storms.  The only time I can't watch 47 is when I have my laptop on in the same room.
